   Chill the coupe thoroughly, confirm that no garnish is required, and ready the shaker.

   Measure whiskey, lemon juice, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, egg white accurately and add them to a clean cocktail shaker.

   Fill the shaker about three-quarters full with solid ice cubes and seal it firmly.

   Pre-chill a coupe, add the whiskey, lemon juice, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, and egg white to an empty shaker, dry-shake hard for 10 seconds, add solid ice and shake again for 10–15 seconds, fine-strain into the coupe, let the compact foam cap settle, and serve without garnish.

   Fine-strain into the chilled coupe so no small ice fragments reach the drink.

   Serve immediately without a garnish while the drink is at its best.
