How Kokto recipes and guides are put together

Short answer

Kokto publishes recipes from its versioned catalog, shows the ingredients and steps in full, and identifies external references where available. A Kokto specification can differ from a classic source; the page should make that distinction clear.

Sources and recipe specifications

A recipe page shows the Kokto ingredient list, amounts, serving count, method and ordered preparation steps. External references, such as the International Bartenders Association, provide context. Their presence does not imply endorsement or an identical recipe.

Ingredient guides cite the sources supporting their definitions and comparisons. Ingredient collection pages calculate recipe counts and pairings from the 100 recipes on this website. Those counts describe this library, not search popularity or every possible drink.

Measurements and substitutions

Use the original amount column when precision matters. Centilitres and US fluid ounces are converted from measured millilitres; displayed values are rounded. Parts describe relative amounts of measured liquids, not weights or garnish quantities.

Ingredients with similar names remain separate identities. Sharing an ingredient or a preparation method does not establish substitution compatibility. Unfinished substitution guidance is marked as a preview and excluded from the search sitemap.

What a tasting profile means

Sweetness, sourness, bitterness, strength and freshness use Kokto's five-point editorial scale. They help compare recipes, but are not measured ABV, a personal preference prediction or a customer star rating.

Alcohol-free recipes are identified separately from taste scores. Check the labels of your own packaged ingredients because formulations can vary. No rating markup is created from these taste scores.

Review dates and assisted content

The catalog review date identifies the recipe snapshot used by a page. A website update date may change when presentation, links or explanatory content is revised; it does not imply that the drink was freshly taste-tested.

Software assembles recipe and ingredient pages from structured catalog records. Catalog preparation may use AI assistance, and some imagery is AI-generated. Neither a generated draft nor an image is evidence of a physical preparation or an independent tasting.

Report a correction

If an amount, ingredient identity, image or source looks wrong, contact Kokto Support with the page URL and the detail that needs checking. Including a primary reference helps the team investigate and update the relevant record.
