   Pre-chill one heavy rocks glass, ready one large clear ice cube, and cut exactly one very short narrow orange zest twist.

   Measure the blended Scotch whisky, Bénédictine, and walnut liqueur into a clean mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass about three-quarters full with solid cold ice.

   Stir smoothly for 20–25 seconds until the amber mixture is very cold and properly diluted.

   Place the large fresh cube in the chilled rocks glass and strain the cocktail over it.

   Express the single compact orange twist, retain it neatly at the rim, and serve without another garnish.
