   Chill the coupe thoroughly, prepare the One compact lemon twist, and ready the mixing equipment.

   Measure blended scotch, sweet vermouth, benedictine accurately and add them to a clean mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass with solid ice cubes and place a bar spoon against the inside wall.

   Pre-chill a coupe, combine the blended Scotch whisky, sweet vermouth, and accurately measured one-and-one-quarter-teaspoon portion of Bénédictine in a mixing glass with solid ice, stir for 20–25 seconds until very cold and properly diluted, fine-strain into the coupe, express one short compact lemon twist, and retain it neatly at the rim.

   Strain into the chilled coupe, keeping the finished drink clear of ice fragments.

   Finish with One compact lemon twist and serve immediately.
