Garnish: Exactly one small thin lime wedge

   Pre-chill a clear Collins glass and cut exactly one small thin lime wedge.

   Pour the blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, grenadine, cassis liqueur, and optional saline into the chilled glass in that order.

   Fill the glass with clear cold ice, keeping enough headroom for the optional soda.

   If using soda water, pour it gently down the inside of the glass after all still ingredients; never shake it.

   Lift once very gently with a bar spoon to retain a subtle natural sunrise gradient and preserve carbonation.

   Place exactly one restrained lime wedge at the rim and serve without orange or cherry.
