   Place the mint leaves and vanilla syrup in a chilled julep cup or double rocks glass.

   Press the mint very lightly two or three times to release its aroma without shredding it.

   Fill the glass with crushed ice, then add the artichoke amaro, rhum agricole, and fresh grapefruit juice.

   Churn from the bottom with a bar spoon until the glass is cold and the ingredients are evenly mixed.

   Crown with more crushed ice to form a compact mound above the drink.

   Garnish with a fresh mint sprig and grapefruit twist, and serve with a short straw.
