   Chill the coupe thoroughly, prepare the One small cocktail onion, and ready the shaker.

   Measure gin, orange juice, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, cocktail onion accurately and add them to a clean cocktail shaker.

   Fill the shaker about three-quarters full with solid ice cubes and seal it firmly.

   Pre-chill a coupe, add the gin, fresh orange juice, dry vermouth, and sweet vermouth to a shaker filled with solid ice, shake firmly for 10–15 seconds until very cold, fine-strain into the chilled coupe, place exactly one well-drained small cocktail onion directly in the drink, and serve without a pick or any additional garnish.
