   Pre-chill one clear rocks glass and cut exactly one very small thin slice from a ripe fresh plum.

   Measure the single-malt Scotch and umeshu into a clean mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass about three-quarters full with solid cold ice.

   Stir smoothly for 20–25 seconds until the amber mixture is very cold and properly diluted.

   Strain into the chilled rocks glass over exactly one large clear ice cube.

   Set the single small plum slice at the rim and serve without citrus, herbs, or another garnish.
