   Chill a Collins glass, prepare fresh ice, and keep the ginger beer sealed and cold until needed.

   Add the cognac, gin, fresh lime juice, and aromatic bitters to a shaker.

   Fill with ice and shake firmly for 8–10 seconds to chill and dilute the spirits.

   Pour the complete shaker contents, including the ice, into the chilled Collins glass.

   Top slowly with cold ginger beer and give one gentle lift with a bar spoon to combine.
