   Pre-chill one heavy rocks glass, prepare one large clear ice cube, and cut exactly one small thin orange half-wheel.

   Measure the blended Scotch, sweet vermouth, and red bitter aperitif into a clean mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass with solid cold ice and place a bar spoon against the inside wall.

   Stir smoothly for 20–25 seconds until the ruby mixture is very cold and properly diluted.

   Place the single large cube in the chilled glass and strain the drink over it without small ice fragments.

   Set the single compact orange half-wheel at the rim and serve without another garnish.
