   Chill the cocktail thoroughly, confirm that no garnish is required, and ready the mixing equipment.

   Measure white rum, sweet sherry, lime juice accurately and add them to a clean mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass with solid ice cubes and place a bar spoon against the inside wall.

   Add the white rum, sweet cream sherry, and fresh lime juice to a mixing glass filled with solid ice, stir briskly until very cold and evenly diluted, fine-strain into a thoroughly chilled cocktail glass, and serve without garnish.

   Strain into the chilled cocktail, keeping the finished drink clear of ice fragments.

   Serve immediately without a garnish while the drink is at its best.
