   Chill the coupe thoroughly, confirm that no garnish is required, and ready the shaker.

   Measure gin, triple sec, lemon juice accurately and add them to a clean cocktail shaker.

   Fill the shaker about three-quarters full with solid ice cubes and seal it firmly.

   Pre-chill a coupe, add the gin, triple sec, and freshly squeezed lemon juice to a shaker with solid ice, shake hard for 10–15 seconds until very cold, fine-strain into the chilled glass, allow any coarse bubbles to settle to a thin line, and serve without garnish.

   Fine-strain into the chilled coupe so no small ice fragments reach the drink.

   Serve immediately without a garnish while the drink is at its best.
