   Chill the coupe thoroughly, confirm that no garnish is required, and ready the shaker.

   Measure brandy, triple sec, simple syrup, aromatic bitters accurately and add them to a clean cocktail shaker.

   Fill the shaker about three-quarters full with solid ice cubes and seal it firmly.

   Pre-chill a coupe, add the brandy, triple sec, simple syrup, and two measured dashes of aromatic bitters to a shaker filled with solid ice, shake firmly for 10–15 seconds until very cold and fully integrated, fine-strain into the chilled coupe, check for a clean lightly aerated surface, and serve without garnish.

   Fine-strain into the chilled coupe so no small ice fragments reach the drink.

   Serve immediately without a garnish while the drink is at its best.
