   Combine the measured bourbons, aged rum, brandy, demerara syrup, aromatic bitters, and water in a sealed bottle.

   Mix thoroughly, label the batch, and chill it in the freezer until very cold but still pourable.

   Freeze a highball glass and prepare one large clear ice column or cube that fits safely inside.

   Place the ice in the frozen glass and pour one measured serving of the cold batch over it.

   Express a short orange zest over the drink.

   Place the zest securely at the rim and serve immediately.
