   Pre-chill a clear coupe and cut exactly one very short narrow strip of orange zest.

   Measure the Calvados, cognac, pisco, vanilla-herbal liqueur, and dry vermouth into a mixing glass.

   Add the optional chilled water only when the available ice is unusually dry, then fill the mixing glass with solid cold ice.

   Stir smoothly for 20–25 seconds until the three brandies are fully integrated, very cold, and properly diluted.

   Fine-strain into the chilled coupe so the pale spirituous drink remains clear of ice fragments.

   Express the orange oils, retain exactly the compact twist at the rim, and serve without another garnish.
