   Chill the cocktail thoroughly, confirm that no garnish is required, and ready the shaker.

   Measure scotch whisky, ginger wine, orange juice accurately and add them to a clean cocktail shaker.

   Fill the shaker about three-quarters full with solid ice cubes and seal it firmly.

   Chill a V-shaped cocktail glass thoroughly, add the Scotch whisky, green ginger wine, and fresh orange juice to a shaker filled with solid ice, shake firmly for 10–15 seconds until very cold and evenly integrated, fine-strain into the chilled glass, let any coarse bubbles settle, and serve without garnish.

   Fine-strain into the chilled cocktail so no small ice fragments reach the drink.

   Serve immediately without a garnish while the drink is at its best.
