   Pre-chill a heavy rocks glass and cut exactly one very thin small fresh pear wedge.

   Rinse the chilled rocks glass with the mezcal, coating the interior before discarding the excess.

   Measure the reposado tequila, applejack, pear liqueur, and aromatic bitters into a mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass with solid cold ice and stir steadily until thoroughly chilled and properly diluted.
