   Chill the coupe thoroughly, confirm that no garnish is required, and ready the mixing equipment.

   Measure dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, gin accurately and add them to a clean mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass with solid ice cubes and place a bar spoon against the inside wall.

   Pre-chill a generous coupe, combine the dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, and gin in a mixing glass filled with solid ice, stir for 20–25 seconds until very cold and properly diluted, fine-strain into the chilled glass, check that the surface is clean and still, and serve without garnish.

   Strain into the chilled coupe, keeping the finished drink clear of ice fragments.

   Serve immediately without a garnish while the drink is at its best.
