   Chill a double rocks glass, prepare fresh crushed ice, cut one small lime wedge, and trim one short neutral straw.

   Measure the dark rum, absinthe, grenadine, rich syrup, lemon juice, and lime juice into a shaker.

   Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for 10–15 seconds until thoroughly chilled.

   Pack the chilled glass with fresh crushed ice and strain the cocktail evenly over it.

   Secure the small lime wedge at the rim and place the short straw beside it without hiding the drink.

   Top with a little more crushed ice if needed, wipe the glass, and serve immediately.
