   Chill a coupe glass and cut fresh lemon and orange peels if using the optional garnish.

   Measure the bourbon, artichoke amaro, and cherry liqueur into a mixing glass.

   Fill the mixing glass with solid ice and stir smoothly for 20–25 seconds.

   Check that the cocktail is very cold and adequately diluted without becoming watery.

   Strain into the chilled coupe, leaving all mixing ice behind.

6. 06

   Optionally express the lemon and orange peels over the drink and add them before serving.
