   Chill a heavy rocks glass, prepare one large clear cube, and cut one narrow lemon twist.

   Measure the bourbon, vanilla herbal liqueur, rich syrup, and aromatic bitters into a mixing glass.

   Fill with solid ice and stir smoothly for 20–25 seconds until very cold and properly diluted.

   Place the large fresh cube in the chilled rocks glass and strain the cocktail over it.

   Express the lemon oils over the drink and rest the narrow twist securely at the rim.
